Identity - A poem about identity and BPD

If somebody were to ask me

Who I am

I would tell them my name

But if they asked me to dig a little deeper

"I'm not so sure"

I would say

Am I just a body?

Am I soul that feels pain?

See my humour is immature,

And I'm borderline insane

Maybe that's all there is to me

But am I kind? Am I humane?

Ask someone else

Ask my fair-weather friends

Ask the walls of my house

And when I die

Ask my grave

Did she live? Was she brave?
