before i get to meat and potatoes of the post i wanna say that i myself used to listen to alot of scenecore plus i still like some of it key word on some and personally do not care at all if you do also chances are this post wont make alot of sense and will be kind of disjointed sorry might contradict myself at points as well idk
okay so to start what do i even mean by scenecore? i directly mean the hyperpop subgenre with that name it often sounds abit darker then normal hyperpop and often has lyrics that romantize/fetishize stuff like self harm, addiction, mental illness etc think music like rebzyyz or horrormovies figured like itd be a good idea to give an idea of what i mean for those who dont know even if i just end up rambling and beefing with things with little depth on the matter
im not even rlly a lyric guy for the most part but there is just something about alot of scenecore music that rubs me the wrong way i was revisiting some of it not that long ago and it was legit nauseating to listen to like im sorry but ill never fucking understand how i used to listen to tr1st4n their lyrics are so damn bad man the fact i used to listen to their shit daily disgusts me bro like wtf im sorry but no sane person writes the song panty fantasy
i mainly dont fuck with artists like tr1st4n and horrormovies alot of scenecore artists general have icky lyrics but for reason those two get under my skin most nowadays
soundwise alot of it fucks but like i just cant get past some of these lyrics the way i used to man maybe its becuz im general speaking doing better mentally and or its that im older idk??
i also find the fact alot of younger teens enjoy this kinda music concerning?? considering alot of the lyrics note im not saying young people cant enjoy darker things and i know chances are the reason they listen to this kind of music is do to a bad mental state coming from personal experience also i know damn well that listening to this crap makes that shit worse/doesnt help idk it might help for some people idk but it sure as hell didnt for me especially if you listen to it often as hell
i was like 15-16 when i found scenecore and listened to it most which was only like 2-3 years ago yeah? which wasnt that long ago i know but like idk im a changed man i guess
idk what else to say chances are i could have tried to make actual good points but like i just wanted to complain tbh ultimately people can listen to whatever they want im just some hater on the internet

a nice rant, i do agree with how youre frustrated with some aspects of scenecore, and i do appreciate how you do recognize how other people cope with the music genre :) i do have a slightly differing opinion though. we cannot define the circumstances of why teenagers are listening, and favoring the music genre despite its explicity taboo references but i assume that its more of the depiction absurd experience of a messed up life that said teenagers may have experienced themselves. or, you know; you listen to it because it was/is "trendy". hopefully i didnt come off as offensive, or expand on my interpreration too much
no what youre saying didnt come off as offense and what youre saying makes perfect sense alot of my opinion comes from personal experience listening to the genre
