debating?!

do i like debating? yes and no.

more like do i enjoy watching people debate? yes.

do i like doing it myself? no.

i do enjoy discussing about certain topics but when it comes to debating (like in class) i just get stuck?

i’m not sure if it’s because i just don’t feel comfy enough to be open about my ideas or if i’m worried i’m going to be wrong even tho everyone is entitled to say what they think.

for instance, if i’m debating about something w someone i feel closer to i think it’s easier but still hard. i never really liked expressing my own opinions/ideas bc of the fear of “what if i’m wrong?” or “what if i said something completely atrocious?”

and abt watching people debate, there’s this girl i know who’s honestly just incredible doing it. the way she speaks and explains things really catches ur attention. it could be a random ass topic and i would still find myself listening and nodding.

that’s also one problem that i have, i don’t really know how to express myself by talking (or at least not as good) but when i write things actually sound a lot better and i feel like i use a more diverse and “rich” vocabulary.

(maybe i js don’t have eloquence idk)

another thing is some teachers say “reading can expand ur vocabulary”, and yes it’s true but i always feel like i don’t know how or when to apply it so i always end up using the same words over and over again.

like while my knowledge of diff words is okay, i still don’t use it and idk how to do it bc i js keep forgetting words.
