arranged in alphabetical order. discography based on what is available on spotify :3 i am not very familiar with all the intricate varieties of specific musical genres please do not kill me if i get genres wrong !!! the name of the genre is about the least important part to me as every individual band and artist is distinct in their own ways.
Agalloch : Folk/doom/black metal. 6 albums, 5 EPs, 4 singles. Personal favorite song is "...And The Great Cold Death Of The Earth".
Alex G : Indie rock. Honestly I probably wouldn't have actually listened to Alex G as much if not for my boyfriend constantly sending me songs. I am glad he did. I love his lyricism and how he does vocals for different songs. 10 albums, 1 EP, 11 singles. Personal favorite songs are "In Love", "Gnaw", "Change", and "Kute".
All Shall Be Well (and All Shall Be Well and All Manner of Things Shall Be Well) : ". . . instrumental, cinematic music. They build on themes, thresh out their melodies and look for unsuspected harmonies. Their music is highly associative; they liken their music to stories rather than songs." The emotions they are able to convey with their music are beautiful to me. 2 albums, 1 EP, 7 singles. Personal favorite songs are "History Is Ever Ours For the Reliving.", "Forgot Yesterday, Am Today and Will Be Tomorrow", "I Will Guide You over Oceans and Across Troubled Lands", "Nothing to Go Home To, Nothing There to Come Home for, No Home to Return To", and "One Day I Will Find the Right Words and They Will Be Simple".
all under heaven : Alternative/shoegaze. 1 album, 1 EP, 5 singles. Personal favorite song is "Desperately Seeking Answers".
ASkySoBlack : Rock. 1 album, 2 EPs, 1 single. One of my absolute favorite bands, I have never disliked a single song of theirs. They interacted with me online a few times (AKA they liked a few of my tweets and reposted one of them) and I haven't shut up about it since. I would do anything to see them live. Personal favorite songs are "See You Sacred", "On For No One", "Boy Like A Bruise", "You Sit Useless", "Portrait In Private", "Hold Me Holy", "Waiting For A Hearse", "My 490", and "Decay Desire".
Axis of Light : Black metal. 1 album, 2 EPs, 3 singles. Admittedly haven't listened to them much. Personal favorite song is "Upon the Exalted Hills".
Birds Fear Death : Alternative/emo. 2 albums, 1 EP, 1 single. Her music is very important to me for reasons I cannot entirely explain. Her songs are very honest and raw and in that sense feel very intimate to me. There is a very specific emotion that their songs elicit that I have not experienced elsewhere. Very dark topics. Personal favorite songs are "fucking love song", "do you still believe in god?", "Bird Trapped in a Mall", and "Lighter Fluid".
Bleed : Alternative metal. 1 EP, 1 single. Personal favorite song is "Burnt (By the Sun)".
Burial Etiquette : ". . . screamo/emo, post-hardcore". 2 albums, 4 EPs, 24 singles. Personal favorite song is "Hyperviolent Ballet".
Car Seat Headrest : Indie rock. Also a band I mostly listen to because of my boyfriend. He influences my taste in music very frequently. Their music makes me want to curl up on my side and stare at the wall for a few hours. 11 albums, 4 EPs, 17 singles. Personal favorite songs are "I Hate Living", "Oh! Starving", and "I Want You to Know That I'm Awake/i Hope That You're Asleep".
Chinese Cigarettes : Slowcore/shoegaze. Really I just like instrumentals a lot. 1 album, 2 EPs, 1 single. Similar to Duster. Personal favorite song is "Linear".
Colin Stetson : I am actually not even sure how to describe Colin Stetson's music in simple terms. I've mostly only listened to "New History Warfare Vol. 2: Judges" and "When we were that what wept for the sea", and I feel like if you took jazz and made it strange and unsettling, you'd have Colin Stetson. Never recovering from "The righteous wrath of an honorable man" being turned into a meme song but oh well. 26 albums, 3 EPs, 18 singles. Personal favorite song is "Fear of the unknown and The Blazing Sun".
Daylight : Alternative rock. Old title of Superheaven. 2 EPs, 1 single. Personal favorite songs are "Hungry At A Funeral" and "Damp".
Deftones : Alternative metal. Chino Moreno has such a nice voice and it is so distinct. Every time I stumble upon a song that he does the vocals for I can immediately tell it is him. I also just really love the difference in intensity in Deftones songs. 13 albums, 1 collection, 10 singles. Personal favorite songs are "Hearts / Wires", "Rapture", and "Rats!Rats!Rats!".

godfuck : Noise pop/screamo. 1 album, 1 EP, 3 singles. Personal favorite song is "End of Everything (EOE)".
Godspeed You! Black Emperor : Alternative. Truly feels like more of an experience than just songs. Also very very long songs. 8 albums, 4 singles. Personal favorite song is "Providence".
Harsh Intention : Rock. 1 EP, 4 singles. Personal favorite songs are ":)" and "an angel strikes".
Have A Nice Life : Post-punk shoegaze? I cannot entirely categorize them as just one thing, which also goes for many bands on this list. Also deeply important to me and I genuinely feel like their music has helped me in my life emotionally and even spiritually to some extent. 4 albums, 1 EP, 5 singles. Personal favorite songs are "Who Would Leave Their Son Out In The Sun?", "I Don't Love", "Deep, Deep", "Music Will Untune The Sky", "Defenestration Song", "Bloodhail", and "Unholy Life".
Heaven Pierce Her : Rock/metal. ULTRAKILL soundtrack is actually the only thing I've listened to from this project of Hakita's. 5 albums, 2 EPs, 1 single. Personal favorite songs are "The World Looks Red", "Hear! the Siren Song Call of Death", "Altars of Apostasy", and "Cold Winds". I'm partial towards the Violence layer music.
Her New Knife : Alternative rock. 1 album, 3 EPs, 4 singles. Personal favorite songs are "Ruin" and "Pursuit".
Hymns for the Angels : Post-rock. Mainly what got me into instrumental, atmospheric stuff. Also just sort of a fun fact, I do tend to search for music based on if I think the titles of the songs or the band's name sounds nice. Obviously it isn't the only factor, but I am just a simple man and if anything relating to angels, heaven, or the divine in general is mentioned in their music, I will likely give them a listen out of curiosity. 2 albums, 4 singles. Personal favorite song is "Come with Me."
I Hate Sex : Emo/screamo. My first genuine introduction to screamo and what made me really like the genre. 2 albums, 3 singles. Personal favorite songs are "Sleep Paralysis" and "Weird Dream, Conscious Stream".
I Hear Sirens : Post-rock. Beautiful cover art if that matters to anyone else. 3 albums, 2 EPs, 4 singles. Personal favorite song is "Deception Has a Way With Words".

Leaving Time : Alternative rock. 2 albums, 3 EPs, 5 singles. Personal favorite song is "Drag".
Leurez : Soft ambient stuff. Same person as Zeruel. The music is cute to me in a way and it makes me feel happy and warm. 5 singles, each with a different flower as the cover. Personal favorite song is "Arteria".
Light of the Morning Star : Gothic metal. Makes me feel like a vampire listening to them. Their description on Spotify is "Light of the Morning Star is vampirism, necromancy, and Devil worship." Very fitting. 2 albums, 1 EP, 4 singles. Personal favorite song is "Five Point Star".
Machine Girl : Alternative electronic. Sometimes I just really like music that feels like it is vibrating my brain. 10 albums, 2 EPs, 8 singles. Personal favorite songs are "Out By 16, Dead On The Scene" and "Athoth a Go!! Go!!"
Midrift : Shoegaze. I was very drawn in by the vocals; I think they're pretty. 3 EPs, 6 singles. Personal favorite songs are "unrequited" and "dismal".
miserable teens club : Slowcore. I consistently switch between music that makes me feel happy and bouncy and music that makes me picture bleeding out on a winter night in a field. This happens to fall on the latter. I appreciate music that makes me feel things and this accomplishes that. It feels hopeless, lonely, utterly distraught. 1 album. Personal favorite song is "the skin around my neck is raw and worn".
Mitski : Indie rock?. Mitski is her own thing in my mind. 7 albums, 1 EP, 4 singles. Personal favorite song is "Last Words of a Shooting Star".

This Will Destroy You : Post-rock. Personal favorite song is "Communal Blood"; it's what plays on my profile!
