Christianity Topic Rant #1: Using Christianity For Your Own Gain

Sometimes I feel people are using God so loosely when it comes to forgiveness, like if u did a bad thing and you say God will deal with it or that God forgave you are you saying that because you genuinely feel bad and want to make a change or because you don't want to deal with the consequences of your actions and using God as a scapegoat

Like it's so heartbreaking when I see stories on tin Tok and stuff about people leaving the church because they think these over religious self-righteous Pharisees are how all Christians act

Matthew 12:36-37

“But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgement for every empty word they have spoken".37 For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned."

This might be controversial but I think the Christian community would be way better if we stopped trying so hard to portray ourselves as good and holy Christian people to non-religious people and instead focused on our relationship with God instead

Like I think things would be better if we stopped focusing n how we look to other people, but how we look to God and people will see for themselves who we represent

Like I'm being so fr I think that some people are hesitant or don't want to be a Christian because they think they have to be perfect or good Christians like no all you gotta do is come as you are and do your best to follow what God laid out for us to follow

Matthew 6:1-4

“Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.
2 “So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."
