Moby Dick the finished

Its finally over. Insert sunset man breaking chains meme.

Its hard to describe how i feel about this book. After I finished and read the little segment at the end, I went to check reviews out of curiosity, and they seemed split into 2 main categories: this book was a total masterpiece with amazing metaphors and comparisons, flowery language and flowing text, crazy freaks and sane men vs yea i guess but its also really boring

I dont disagree with either side, but while I certainly found myself often beginning to skim over Ishy’s long whale talks, probably understood only about 30% of the book, and, as someone who has read 500 page books in one day with ease, this 670ish page book took me 6 months to get through, I do not regret reading it, and it’s not a waste of anyone’s time. I won’t think back on it negatively, but it’s not something I’d recommend for the faint of heart and low of patience.

If anyone else here has read it, I’d love to hear your thoughts :3
