bullet train .-'🚂-'。

heya! I said I'm here to yapp about the stuff I watch so here I am, 2 hours later, making good on that promise.

minor spoilers ahead duh

I just finished rewatching bullet train. I had in plan to watch another movie but since I felt the need for something action packed with comedy sprinkled in I've ultimately decided on this rewatch.

Despite me not liking Brad Pitt as both an actor and a person him being in this movie didn't bother me much because I have other actors I enjoy and on which performances I can appreciate (I didn't even find Joey King as annoying like in her other movies). As always tho Hiroyuki Sanada was impeccable. 

I adore the fight scenes a lot as well as the ridiculous way they would play out. the cinematography was phenomenal and pleasing to the eye, some shots really are literally ingrained in my retina.

what I really appreciated were of course the characters and the use of stereotypes, from the way the characters were presented to lemon who was cataloguing everybody based on Thomas the tank engine. It was very clever and while usually it isn't fun when a character is just one trait this movie subverts and makes the characters dimensional with their struggles and quirks. I'd say the presentation is how those around the character sees them, if that makes any sense lol ૮₍ ˃ ⤙ ˂ ₎ა

another detail I have enjoyed a lot is the fact that lady bugs have a spot for each of the seven sorrows in the world and we have exactly as many deaths (-ish if we count a character that 'died' multiple times even if they ultimately is alive at the end). not only this but as a plus the foreshadowing was so good like how you know who stole from the beginning and such little details that I can't help but appreciate.

The ending was absolutely poetic in it's karma, just like most of the deaths in the film.

I did enjoy every second and I want to put a special spotlight on my favorite character from this movie: the water bottle! `⎚⩊⎚´ -✧
