Winter blog entry #5
Estimated time to read: 7-10 minutes
Today I've wanted to make a longer blog, more personal too, so I've decided to share my characters. I've genuinely grew attached to them, some more than others, so sharing it is something deeply personal. Hope y'all will enjoy reading!
CW: SA, ABUSE, CANNIBALISM AND SUCH.
Liam:
It's a mutant, I use He/It for it. It's not something to be seen as person or be sympathetic towards, he's just a brute driven by madness.
Story:
So Liam, is an experiment, the information about his past before he got into the facility isn't much, just that he was trafficked and then sold. The whole facility isn't legal either.
The process of Liam becoming a mutant wasn't long, the mutation was surprisingly fast. The DNA of a third dimension creature (to explain that I would need to get into details of the world they're living in, which we will get to later), adapted really fast into the system of a human.
Unfortunately, due to it being first experiment on humans, he was just a prototype, a failed one at that. He became too aggressive, the mutation went so wrong it caused it's original body to rot, while new tissue, muscles and bones began to grow in and on it. In an attempt to kill the experiment scientists poured acid on the mutant's body, other tries weren't successful, firearm, melee weapons, and such weren't effective. The new tissue already attacked the skin in most of the places, so it was mostly pointless try, but Liam's stomach was still a human tissue, so it dissolved, ribs and organs with it, unfortunately, the spine was already different, it got mutated, so it was still intact, at least most of it.
Years from the incident, and the subject was still 'alive' it couldn't speak, the stench of rot and decay was inseparable from it. The body wasn't resembling human, it only was bipedal. The creature showed extremely violent behavior. It could only communicate in low groans. It's locked under 24/7 supervision in a bunker like lab deep underground.
Unfortunately, Liam had broken out from his containment so the laboratory was blocked off from the world. The hatch got locked for good, trapping the staff, other subjects and Liam within.
Details:
Mutation has a fast way of spreading, the DNA of a creature from third dimension is like a parasite. Once it's in, it's gonna take the host's mind and body, recovery is possible but only if you work fast (cut off your limb the DNA was injected into). The first thing it's gonna latch on are the bones, then muscles, skin and rest of the organs. In it's final way stage it will take neurons and effect the brain's chemistry. Your reproductive organs won't be there anymore (as in there will be a null spot the creatures do not have them, they don't reproduce naturally), when it comes to breasts they will either be covered in scales/fur/goo/skin/whatever the creature has or simply they will rot off and the chest will become flat. The person affected with the creature is sentient at first.
Naturally, the mutation doesn't always take form by textbook, it can deviate from the "norm", the steps are only just very basic understanding of the changes.
Troy:
He's just a guy. Nothing more to him. He's thirty-five (35) and just living his life, loves pop music, he was a teen in the 90s, modern day cultist. Often wears suits, his closet is mostly made out of them. It's paired with slick back hair and solid black mask with mesh on the eye area.
Story:
Ever since he was born he got dealt bad cards in life. He was living in poverty with abusive father and enabler mother. She often turned blind eye to how her husband beat him and at times rented him out just to make a quick buck. Their financial situation was worse than bad, he was starving in his own home.
Once the inevitable happen, Troy snapping, his parents were dead in their bedroom, throats slit. The guilt and remorse was eating at him, he looked for shelter and possibly someone to open up to, someone to understand him. That's when one of the follower's from a cult, Apostles of Bleeding Sky, found him. The teen was perfect, lost, not knowing what to think, his view of the world was easily manipulated, the need for community to call his own too strong to resist. So there he was, a seventeen year old murder among cultists.
His trial to join was simple, just a night spent on a cross. It was to show devotion and a way to mock the most believed religion in the area, Christianity. Troy agreed, he got nailed and spent the night. The morning was more than eagerly awaited, his wounds were tented to and he was able to join the "elite" group. As he got older he got used to the life in cult, he became one of preachers, was able to get his own place in a secluded part of town, away from prying eyes. He had found victims, kidnapping them and keeping captive. He wasn't too cruel, just keeping them in a cage, feeding them left overs from previous sacrifices. He often wears headphones around his neck blasting his favorite songs as he walks around the house. Very talkative with his victims, it's not like they're getting out anytime soon anyway.
Details:
Grayish blue eyes with brown hair. His mask lacks any facial features. He's lean but very strong. He isn't dumb, but definitely not the brightest either. Has a strong Texas accent, he smokes but only occasionally. He believes what he's doing is right, he thinks it's the path to salvation. He's single and not planning on getting a partner, doesn't need them, but if he gets one it's only for his gain.
Toby:
Toby is a mutant just like Liam, he's just more normal, more successful one.
Story:
The people responsible for mutating Liam were taking notes, learning from their mistakes. The next chance they got to make another subject go through it, they were a lot more prepared.
The moment Toby was in their grasp he got tortured. The pain to even prepare him mentally for the mutation was unbearable, he wasn't sure he's a sane man anymore.
But the moment the mutation began he was even more miserable then he was already. The scientists though didn't let him mad like they did to Liam. They quickly put him in a coma and monitored his brain, the earlier tests on animals paid off, they were able to keep the man sane. They didn't believe the chance they got, it was like winning a lottery!
When Toby woke up and didn't immediately went on a rampage the scientists celebrated their success. The celebration though was cut short when the mutant lost control and a few paid with their life. After just a few hours he returned back to his senses. That's when the scientists learned he's gonna have episodes sometimes. That complicated things, nonetheless, he was given time to adjust to his new body, all the changes and pain coming with the mutation.
And like that, he was deemed successful. A better version of a beast. He never tasted freedom ever again. His life became a cycle, experiments, evaluations, tests. The only change he got was when his episodes became more rare, almost controlled. That's when the scientists thought he was ready to be out, and so he was, used as a weapon in combat, joining military, letting his instincts take control when needed.
And after that, the cycle began again, just this time there was a flavor to it, a breath of fresh air.
Experiments, evaluations, tests, a mission.
He gained a purpose. And it was always the same but somehow different. All he needed to do was kill, but the change of location, settings, even atmosphere was something he needed. And Toby embraced his new chapter in life, making the most he could of the situation he found himself in.
Details:
The process of keeping Toby sane was something similar to combating rabies by putting people into a coma, there's a really small chance the human immune system might combat it on it's own. To clarify, he was in coma for around a year. They didn't want to risk it.
Liam was supposed to be a military weapon too, he just didn't turned out good enough. It was their plan from the beginning. Remember, just because it's illegal, doesn't mean the government wouldn't do it.
His suit is tailored to fit him, just like every other part of his gear that was necessary to adjust.

Tony:
He's a bit of a self interest, but only appearance and music taste wise, I like to think we have different personalities. Also, he doesn't have the same story as I do!
Story:
A teen who just so happens to be gay. His father is a unsupportive and his mother left. He's a whoops baby. He's pretty normal, has plain life. He's crushing on a boy from his class but seems to not be able to talk to him. Tony is shy around him, but very loud and energetic when with good friends or alone. Loves to dance around when music plays. He doesn't have much story, he's closeted, so his father doesn't know about anything.
Details:
Has dyed red hair and wears only the right earring, he says it's for fashion but his father is still unhappy about it. When he's alone for the whole day he plays around with makeup, his favorite thing is to put some sparkly eyeshadow on, it makes him feel pretty.

Ryan:
He's a man in his late forties. Ryan is a mob boss and a chain smoker.
Story:
He was born into mafia, a result of a broken marriage. Ever since he was young all of the skills he needed were taught to him. Ryan did not have a say in his future, it was set in stone the moment he took his first steps. Now he's a respected man with high body count (in both ways). He's good friends with a writer that doesn't know about his nightlife. The writer works on a crime novel and when they rant about not knowing something, Ryan always has an answer, whenever it's this moment or next week.
Details:
He prefers melee weapons, but can't say a glock isn't handy.
Often visits bars, buy the one he's the most at is his own, with special room at the back, whenever it's to get a job done, talk about business or just simply get away from people.
Genuinely doesn't care about the gender of his partners nor worries about labels. He might have an beautiful woman or handsome man on his lap.

World:
Long story short, the world is similar to ours in every way we can imagine, but things beyond our knowledge are happening. Like all universums being actually just a one creature, not even sentient. Just drifting through everything and nothing each eye infinite number of universums. Each universe following it's set of rules.
Every single galaxy having it's own guardian. And on each planet three main dimensions.
The first dimension is for creatures like God. All powerful, but not all knowing. They're selfish, unkind. They would rather watch their kind die out then look at the creatures from second dimension with at least a bit sympathy, not to mention a third dimensional ones.
The second dimension is for humans and such, nothing out of ordinary, so it's not much to say.
The third dimension is deep inside the planet's core, it's residents are gurosome creatures. They often have humanoid apperance, thought they can be completly animalistic whith their looks too. Some creatures just give uncanny vally vibes, but most of them, just by looking at them, you would KNOW they aren't human. Just because they are humanoid dosen't mean much when they're a nightmare to look at.
The creatures sometimes crawl out of the depths, up to the surface. All the sightings are considered hoax, they hold a cryptid status like Wendigo, Rake, Skinwalker and so on.

If I got the category wrong, sorry! Let me know which one fits better :] Also, can you tell I got lazy and it was rushed at the end?

Clara-rose (*///*)
Just commenting 2 tell you that I think your ocs are very cool and I love the world building!! :D
Jup¡ter
your world building is litteraly so awsome and the plot or well hints there of are interessting. Do you already have a whole story for everybody written down or are these just concepts you want to work with in the futur?
Either way lore wise, tobys plot is so facinating
Some have stories written in stone, others are just concepts, either way, I like to have fun with my characters and and put them in situations.
I'm glad you enjoyed reading!

The lore of your OCs is sooo well done even with sh0rt description, my favs were Toby and Ryan, I also found really interesting the idea of having a guardian in every freaking galaxy. Imagine how they'd look like
The possibilities are literally endless, but the one I imagine for that galaxy has six arms and has their own planet as their stomach (it's not set in canon to this world, so really, it can be whatever one imagine - it's more fun that way!)! >w<
Thank you for reading, I'm glad you enjoyed♡!

"a strong texas access"? Did you mean accent? Either way, i really love how dedicated you are to your oc's! its a really great way to "expose" your oc's! (i didnt know how to put it :( ) Maybe i should try that too, i cant settle on a single backstory for mines XD
Oml, yes!! Thank you for pointing it out!! Gonna fix it rn
I'm glad you enjoyed the blog!
And don't worry too much about the backstory, if you can't decide just make them the same person but from diffrent universes. TBH all my human ocs from this blog are the same person but I've never decided what age or what they're doing, so for the porpuse of this blog I've made them diffrent people (and it will stay that way ig, I like that! So just start writing and it will come to you, don't overthink it, it's supposed to be fun<3)!!
(+ character without stories are just a blank pages, always can come around to it later or just have fun with the character, no story - no restricions)
