ive seen a lot of people on here say stuff like "nowadays people are so addicted to their phones... there is brainrot everywhere.... ive deleted all my socials and am now living like a pilgrim.... except for spacehey.. spacehey can stay." (slight exaggeration for comedic effect)
i cant help but giggle a little every time i see something like that, because sometimes you are forced to be online, especially if youre not an adult who cant drive themself places !! not only are a lot of modern towns and cities unwalkable with poor or little to no public transit, lots of places are hostile and even outright ban teens, if you arent just doing homework in a coffee shop your presence is unwanted, so i'd really like to know where all these people are going since a lot of the ones i see rejecting the internet are teens
also it sounds like a lot of these people rejecting the internet just dont know how to make their own online space. i typically dont have issues with brainrot since
1) i find it funny
2) im on TUMBLR. a site where you can easily find your own corner
i mean no shade when i say any of this but genuinely how does this happen
edit since i had to rush to post this (class was ending): i say all of this as someone who was forced to grow up online due to there being no space for me offline if that helps anyone understand where im coming from here

i love the internet. it's the only place where i can find people who like the same things as me and don't shun me ( •̯́ ₃ •̯̀)
AHHH YES THIS!! it is very difficult to find people irl who wont label you as "the weird kid with a (insert interest here) obsession"
