TL;DR A Total of 16 Hours Driving For One Night Stay

Basically my dad wanted to see my brother who recently had a kid and dad invited me along. I drove to my grandparents place and slept there Friday night. Saturday morning, old mate came to pick me up and we get going.

This is Sydney to Melbourne which is eight hours (without stopping for breaks).

Now I'm usually fine with long drives but after four hours we finally stopped in Goulburn to get some meat pies near the Big Merino (I'll add an image below). I felt completely tired! The bakery was pretty strange because the owner had his face plastered everywhere. On the walls, on the billboards, even on the coffee cups! His story wasn't remarkable either, he just wanted to be a baker after making damper in a camp oven.

For the next stop, it was Dog on a Tucker Box at Gundagai. My dad was in the toilet stall and he sent me a pic on someone's advertisement for "man meat". I'm not sure if that's supposed to be a butcher or a male prostitute. Also some middle aged lady was on the ground when I walked out of the souvenir shop. She legit had a tumble.

Finally we get to Melbourne. We checked in our hotel for one night. Dad didn't have cash so he had to use card for both the fee and deposit. The surcharge was diabolical (%2.5) and the hotel said they'll return the deposit five days later so they can collect interest!

My brother and his new family are fine. He made some awesome steak on his smoker bbq. It was delish but too much for my lightweight belly.

Back at the hotel, I took a shower before bed. There's three bottles in the shower for conditioner, shampoo and body wash. Body wash was empty so I used shampoo to clean myself. After I stepped out and dried, I took all the soap bars they leave around without thinking too much about it. In the morning, my dad went in to use the shower. There's no body wash so he gets out to find a soap bar but there was nothing, he was already wet so it was kinda no use. I was laughing when he told me because I'm at fault for taking the soap bars (it's a strange thing to do lol).

For breakfast, we grabbed some croissants and danishes at the bakery before seeing my brother again. We ate and chat at his place and I felt really proud for my bro. I actually felt happy spending time with both dad and my bro because I don't usually see them too often, especially together now we're in separate cities.

After breakfast, we set sail back to Sydney. The return trip was unremarkable but I already felt over it by the first hour.

Anyways, dad and I are lunatics for driving 16 hours just for one night stay. It was awesome though, but next time I'm catching a flight down......
