my deep hatred of modern art started in my infancy (when i was like 6), when this guy we knew who was a modern artist accidentally punched me in the face. then when i gained consciousness and was able to understand what ppl were yapping about when they would talk about it i realized how STUPID it was.
like 'oh look at this paper clip' it represents the dichotomy of man. NO IT DOESN'T!! YOUR ATTACHING FRIVOLOUS MEANING TO A PAPERCLIP (also modern art is only still popular because of money laundering soooooo). Moving on, i'm at this museam right? and we're in the modern art section and i'm blessing my father with my opinions on this taffy pile, and we walk to this other room with peppermints on the ground.
(to note; the description of the taffy pile was 'portrait of dad' and talked about how it represented the whatever of the suger industry, blah blah blah) and my mom calls me over to this guy and two other people shes talking to. hes refiling the candy, but i brush it off. My mom is then like "Cardcaptorsakura2929 thinks that modern art is meaningless"
EXCUSE ME?? I EXPRESS MY RIGHT AS A PRIVET AMERICAN CITIZEN AND YOU DOX ME LIKE THIS TO A STRANGER????? so we talk about it, and i keep trying to get out of the conversation and the guy keeps discussing with me and i'm like i just think that if i can't find inharent meaning or direction in the art, then its not really art. and hes like thats an interesting opinion keep feeling strongly about art.
Then I find out its the artist who made the exhibit.
WITH HIS PARENTS.
so that was the most horrifying thing to ever happen to me actually, and when he was leaving and me and my dad were out in the hallway he glanced at me IT WAS SO EMBARASSING T^T
anyway i never use this site so i thought i would post this since none will see it anyway lol

wait you knew artist since you were 6? that's so cool! But anyways I agree with you, especially if it's only objects like it's clear they didn't really put efforts or time into it, it's a shame people would rather buy sutff with random meaning instead of actually supporting artists...
omg thanks for agreeing with me !!!! (you seem rly cool btw :))
