The birth of Venus (18/02/2025)

At night I wade into the uncalm sea of my mind. Walk across the murky ocean floor. As my ears are engulfed by the waves, inner thoughts reduce to nothing more that the swaying sound of blood in my veins. Cloudy music, lulling me back and forth. Bare witness to the soft under belly of waves rolling over head. Weighted beneath the foam. In silence, I rest.

My tears are lost to sea. Drowned in the waves that submerge me.

Free to wallow for as long as I please.

Then the sea releases me.

The salt air crystallises on my skin. Venus, emerging from the tide. I wade to shore, awake. Alive.
