How often do you even post on a blog...? (17/02/25)

HI! I've already met sooo many cool people! I've had so much more interaction than i ever expected! OMG! (So now that i've done my little intro post i can actually blog right...?)

Okay! I already customised my page (Go lookkk) The Polaroid feature is the coolest thing ever OMG (Made by this creator: https://spacehey.com/cristiana) I love actually being able to customise a social media profile. Every other platform is alarmingly bleak and sad...(cry)

All of the photos in the Polaroids are my own photos! As mentioned before im a fourth year student photographer who specialises in portraits. I use my friends as models (and my bf mwah) and try to lean into a more surrealist style :)

The rest of my layout was made by this creator: https://spacehey.com/ang3l0fs0rr0wz and is also gorgeous!!! I chose it because,as you may be able to tell from a) my interest in the old web or b) my interest in collecting physical media, i am utterly immersed in the idea of pre-smart phone technology and the "Simpler Times" (to quote every old person ever) The oversaturation of content, the bots, the AI, DEAR GOD THE AI (AI lovers DNI!!!!) The constant rampant advertising....its a consumerist NIGHTMARE. The internet went from a fun place for people to interact,post about their interests and be themselves has become a blank, minimalistic advertiser hellscape (NO. I DONT NEED A NEW VACUUM YOUTUBE ADS. NO.I DONT NEED A NEW 32 STEP SKINCARE ROUTINE TIKTOK.) This decline of the internet has made the world feel that much bleaker. I try to fill my life with colour and interest and whimsy.I have an overfull badge and patch jacket i wear every day, no matter the weather.I use a portable CD player to listen to music when out and about, not spotify (AGAIN WITH THE ADS. NO. I DO NOT NEED BETTERHELP THERAPY SPOTIFY,LET ME LISTEN TO TV GIRL IN PEACCCEE) I try to make my photography surreal and colourful. I wear arm and neck fulls of jewellery and hands full of rings.I paint my nails in neon colours every few days. I collect old toys and souvenir spoons and novelty teapots.

All of these things let me keep life fun! But that doesn't stop life, when i look outside of my tiny technicolor bubble, from looking unimaginably bleak. Politics, AI, the dead internet, Climate Change, fast fashion...OMG. It all blows. But if i can make a difference from my small little bubble, ill try. I cant imagine living life in a bland way. This is why i steer clear of microtrends, minimalism,etc. My point is...inject some whimsy into your life,just a sprinkle every day. It keeps me sane,and it may do the same for you! (I've attached a photo of mein my patch jacket...its a few months old so the jacket looks a bit fuller now,but it gets the point across!)
