Tony Soprano talking about Penfield School Board Meetings Controversy

"Alright fellas, you hear about this thing up in Penfield? Crazy shit goin' on at this school board, I swear to God. So, they got this book, right? 'The Rainbow Parade', somethin' like that. Sounds innocent enough, right? Wrong.

Apparently, some parents are goin' ballistic. They're sayin' this book is full of... you know... that kinda stuff. The gay stuff. And not just, like, 'oh, look, two guys holdin' hands' kinda gay. They're sayin' it's got... other stuff. Stuff you don't wanna picture your kids seein', especially the little ones, kindergarten age.

So, these parents, they go to the school board meetings, right? Tryna talk sense into these people. And it turns into a fuckin' circus. Meetings gettin' shut down, people yellin', the whole nine yards. You know how these town hall things go, always a fuckin' sideshow.

But get this, the real kicker. Some wiseguy shows up to one of these meetings in a gorilla suit! A gorilla suit! Can you believe this crap? And a MAGA hat, on top of it. Like, what the hell is that supposed to prove? Now everybody's yellin' 'racist!' And maybe it is, maybe it ain't, who the hell knows anymore? But it sure as shit ain't helpin' nobody.

See, that's the problem with this whole thing. Everybody's screamin' and yellin', nobody's listenin'. You got parents worried about what their kids are learnin', feelin' like things are movin' too fast, outta control. And then you got the other side, callin' 'em bigots and racists and whatever else. Nobody's talkin' like civilized people anymore.

It's like, remember when we were kids? You didn't talk about this kinda stuff in school. It was different times, yeah, but simpler, in a way. Now, they're pushin' all this stuff on kids, younger and younger. And people are freakin' out. I ain't sayin' who's right or wrong, but I'm tellin' ya, it's a fuckin' mess. And it ain't gonna get better anytime soon, not with the way people are actin' these days. Just a goddamn headache, that's what it is."
