Do you guys get travel fomo?

You know that feeling when you’re scrolling through Instagram, and it feels like everyone is off on some amazing trip while you’re just... existing? Beach sunsets, cute cafés in Paris, road trips through the mountains—meanwhile, you're at home debating whether to order takeout or actually cook.

It’s weird because sometimes I’m totally fine staying put, but then I see people backpacking through Asia or living that dreamy Italian summer life, and suddenly I feel like I’m missing out on something huge. Even though I know social media only shows the highlights, it’s hard not to compare.

So what do I do about it? First, I remind myself that travel isn’t a competition. Just because someone else is off exploring doesn’t mean I have to be, too. I try to focus on appreciating where I am, even if it’s just a walk in my own city or finding a new café I haven’t tried before.

Sometimes, I channel that FOMO into actual plans. If I’m really craving a trip, I start researching places I’d love to visit, even if I can’t go right away. Having something to look forward to, even if it’s just a weekend getaway, makes a huge difference.

And honestly? I try to unplug a little. Social media makes it seem like everyone is always traveling, but in reality, most people are just sharing past trips or carefully curated moments. The more I focus on my own life instead of comparing it to someone else’s highlight reel, the less that FOMO creeps in.

Do you have ways to deal with it? Or do you just embrace the wanderlust and start planning your next adventure?
