There is something that makes me feel super embarrassed liking cute things as an adult. Like it's something I shouldn't be doing. But then I see some of the toys and figurines and it's so clear they're made for adults with adult money ($500 for a figure is not something a child is getting).
I guess I feel this way because people automatically judge you when you have cute interests. They make you feel silly and childish. Or they try and make it out as weird.
It just seems unfair to me as someone who has a wide variety of interests that extend far beyond cute things. Sure I may love Sanrio but I love learning about absurdism as well. It feels like I'm often not take seriously because I love cute things and the colour pink and am a little more 'girly' and AFAB. It's annoying and frustrating.
Anyway, I wrote this blog post for two reasons. One, so that other adults with cute interests who may be feeling the same way know they're not alone and two, to see what others think about it.
Thanks for reading. <3

Same here, sometimes i see a figurine of Miku or any character and i just wanna have and entire shelf filled with it but my mind sometime play games againts my mind... but sometimes i remember that feelings are ageless and they are the fuel of a person ദ്ദി(˵ •̀ ᴗ - ˵ ) ✧ so maybe i will say to myself... "yeah why not... that SSJ3 Goku figure looks rad, i'll buy it!"
You should! I have been buying so many figures in the past few weeks because they make me happy and who cares what others think? Sure I still feel that 'ahhh people are going to judge me' feeling but I am trying to ignore it. If you see a figure that you think will make you happy and you are able to purchase it, why shouldn't you?
