IM GONNA GO FERAL

I have my own zine, have for about 4 months now and HOLY SHLART IT'S LITERALLY ONE OF THE FUNNEST AND MOST REWARDING THINGS YOU COULD DO!!  I have a little Instagram page set up for that, and although I don't get many comments or interactions on it I always get the sweetest things said about it. I've gotten some pretty dedicated fans for my zine that wait to pick it up whenever I drop off a new one at the different locations I put it. Not only is it fun, knowing you have people liking what you do, but a great sense of community comes with it. I've met so many people that I wouldn't have unless I made zines. I met some old guy that's been doing them for about 14 years, and now some other guy wants me to do art for his band. It really is awesome. I'm 14, I don't have many friends in school (the ones I do I love with all my heart) and I'm usually looked down on by my peers, but when I go out and make stuff and meet people and go to shitty concerts, it doesn't matter, I'm suddenly equal. All I know, is if you're struggling with meeting people who are like you and will genuinely like you for who you are, make a zine. Print 90 of them and put them wherever you feel like. Put em at record stores, coffee shops, even the bowling alley. Whatever you do, just remember, there's always a community out there willing to accept you with open arms, you just have to look for it.
