wazzupppp friends! ( ⸝⸝•ᴗ•⸝⸝ )੭⁾⁾
It's been a short while, and many things had happen over these few days, but I think I need time to properly sit on it and flesh it out. Meanwhile, let me share with y'all my day! The predominant agenda for today was really only planned on Tuesday, when CZY inquired if we had any plans on Friday. While not necessarily always true, our group all being single meant that we were not planning to spend time with a romantic partner. CZY suggested that we could head to Bukit Bintang to take a look at a pop-up showcase for a kpop idol. We all welcomed the idea, and pitched in some more activity ideas in excitement: we could have gelato, visit a fancy lifestyle bookstore, and eating some good Arabic cuisine (shawarma!)
Fast forward to today, I started my day slow, with me drawling on time on tiktok. I then spent some time on QT with God. I then put on an outfit that I had tried out the night before. I was searching up early 2000s disney channel inspired outfits, and I managed to find a white tee and grey vest that really embodied the vibe. I then layered some silver tone necklaces to finish the look. Also taking note that I would be walking around in the heat of Malaysian weather for quite some time, I put on jorts so that I would not be sticky with sweat but instead be cool as a cucumber. (^_<)〜☆
(this was from later in the day, but to give you an idea of my fit)
Sunway Giza, PJ
I had to run some errands (for myself) before heading to Bukit Bintang, and so I dropped by Giza mall. I bought some Aspirin to reduce the inflammation on my left ear. I had slept on my left ear two nights ago, as my right ear lobe had some pus the other day, and I didn't want to irritate it further. I made the mistake of not sleeping using a neck pillow to rest my ear in the crevice, and so my upper flat piercing was irritated (more on that later). In the pharmacy, there were several choices of aspirin available, but they had a large delta in their 'concentration' (? not sure if this is the right word). One brand had 300mg per tablet, and recommended 3-4 times a day, with 4-6 hours of an interval between each intake. Another brand contained 150mg per tablet, and only recommended 140mg per day.
This large variation in dosages had be suspicious (◎ ◎)ゞ, and I wanted to check what was the proper dosage. I believe it depends on the condition being treated, and the dosage varies accordingly. I then bought the 300mg one as I thought I could control the dosage myself. However, there then comes a need whereby I needed a container to store my self-prescribed half tablets of aspirin. I was reminded of how KYQ had used medicine storage boxes to store meds and candies, and I went searching for some. They were quite pricey. Guess I'll just use the contact lens storage case that my mom had received as a free gift.
On the note of anti-inflammatory thingies, I wanted to grab a Boost juice, hoping that the fruits could help reduce some of the swearing. I don't recall the last time I bought fruit juice from Boost, probably like since high-school, ngl. But I've been a customer to Juicy for one or two times since. Anyways, back to the Boost, I got a Berry Bang (Bang), and got the RM2 for 3 add-ons. I thought it was kind of a good deal. It was pretty decent, but a bit chunky. I grabbed my Boost juice and went to the MRT, Bukit Bintang bound.
(yummers)
I tried to make it a point to reduce the chronic multimedia multi-consumption that I had. I saw a tiktok about single-purpose devices, and I was really drawn to the aesthetic of using a digital device for one purpose only. (how ironic that I adopted the idea of reducing media dependency through media as a medium. wait I kinda ate with that) A phone only for calling, a camera for taking pictures, a game console for gaming, and so on. But I also didn't want to lug around so many things, and so I've opted to just using my phone to only listen to music, while on the train. It was honestly kinda difficult, as I did catch myself reaching out to my phone, wanting to scroll on socmed. I decided to people watch instead, ehehe. I began to notice just how many people were on their phones, even uncles and aunties. Not saying that I am better than them, but it kinda did feed into my superiority complex (¬ ₃ ͡¬). Ngl, I even considered bringing a book to read, but tbh I seldom read for entertainment anymore. Thinking back, I could have queued up a podcast,,, (do you guys want to know about some podcasts I've been listening to? lmk!)
Bukit Bintang, KL
I had planned to head to Bukit Bintang earlier, as I wanted to go through some videos for the DMS class at church. I went to Eslite, and peaked that there was a seat remaining that was available at the shared table. I sat down and took out my relatively fresh and ever-so-slightly-curved/bent-from-bag A5 binder and the Uni pigment liner I talked about in the previous blog. I forgot to take a pic, but I did manage to go through 2 vids before receiving a call from KYQ.
We met up and then rendezvoused with LEY, followed by CZY. At this point, we were in front of the H&M, and trying to shelter from the rain. CZY and KYQ went to take some photos by the pop-up store for the make-up brand that the kpop idol was an ambassador for. We then went inside Lot 10 and figured out plans with HGY to meet up. After deciding to stroll around Donki, overstimulation-location, we felt a bit peckish and decided to get some quick bites. We sat down at an unopened food stall in Isetan's chika food area. Chika (地下) means underground in Japanese btw.
(KYQ and LEY shared some karaage から揚げ, and I got nuggets. Yes, how eponymous.)
Then meeting with HGY, we crossed over to the other side of the walk to get to Damascus, the Arabic restaurant, only to find that the queues there were so long that it looked similar to a concert mosh pit. Yea,,, so we decided to head back to Lot 10 to the Japanese food area on the higher floor. I do not know the Japanese word for this. We lapped the floor once, before deciding to dine at Yayoi. What really sold HGY and I was that you could get refills of rice and vege with the set meal. Now you know me and refillable set meals! Time for some reviews! Today, let's try some one word reviews:
- NYL (Nanban chicken set)
- HGY (Nanban chicken set)
- CZY (Nanban chicken set)
- LEY (Chicken katsu set)
- KYQ (Teppanyaki set)
Yes, there were three people who ordered the same thing. It was honestly quite delicious (っ˘ڡ˘ς). And after a delectable meal, and equally mashiseo conversation, we wanted to get some drinks! Crossing over diagonally, we headed to Mixue and also decided to stop by KKV. Tbh it was equally overstimulating as Donki, with the amount of people. I recall it was about this time that my ear got a bit more irritated too, so perhaps that contributed to the overstimulation ☆⌒(>。<). Now for a guessing game, one of us had to use the toitoi, and I suggested we head back to use some relatively more cleaner toilets back at Lot 10. However! As we were walking, CZY and I recalled that we could use the toilet in the hotel! Thank you so much hotel whose name I do not know, for servicing the community with your relatively clean toilets. Seated by the hotel lobby, we pondered if we wanted to head somewhere else, or did we want to call it a night (and go on discord, obv). KYQ then check and found out that Pingmin Market closes at 12am! I was honestly kinda surprised that there were events that opened until so late into the night (YOASOBI song?). And off we went!
Pingmin Market, KL
We were stuck in a traffic jam for quite a while, making a six minute drive into probably a twenty minute one. But we were, as usual, cracking up jokes in the car, and so sooner than expected, we arrived at Pingmin Market. Actually, we were quite confused at the entrance, of which there were two, as none of us have came to Pingmin Market before and then parked near the back entrance. Pingmin Market was a plot of land near a residential area, with several white tents sheltering vendors, some selling food and others selling a wide assortment of items. They were all lit up with string lights, making the whole area feel kinda magical. There was also a large canopied area where there was live music, and several seats facing the small music stage. The whole area felt like we were not in KL, or Malaysia. It kinda gave off Taiwan vibes ngl.
(vibes ⸜(* ˊᗜˋ*)⸝)
We strolled around to get a grasp of what food items were available, as well as what some of the other non-food vendors were selling. There was a stall which sold cute socks! It was more of a lifestyle apparel brand. HGY, KYQ and I were considering getting it with their discount deals, but it was honestly still kinda pricey. However, the socks and other items were honestly so cute. We also stopped by a fragrance stall, and the salesperson gave us some samples to smell. I have seen this brand on shopee before, so it was nice to be able to try their scents in-person. We really liked their pillow mist, and for me it was really gentle and did not have a sharp scent. CZY and KYQ bought some matchy keyrings too. It reminded me of a kpop idol.
(kyoot!)
There was also a stall providing flash tattooing for as low as RM100! I was honestly tempted,,, but nah (unless?). No but I think I would grow tired of my tattoos, as I feel like I seldom really obsess over something to the point where I would want it constantly visible on my body. My piercings, however, are like jewellery where I can swap out (I honestly don't swap out my ear jewelleries tho). It was getting later into the night, and the live musicians had already went back. We continued to sit by the seating area and chatted away, until we decided to call it a night, outside that is. On the way back, it was laughs and heaves as per usual. We also asked a question, which I want to make it into the Question of the Blog (QOTB, if you will). If you could live anywhere else, aside from where you currently reside in, where would you stay? In or context, it was "where would we stay outside of PJ?" I'd say DPC, as it gives of a communal neighbourhood, and a bit gentrified, vibe. Or Bangsar! Bangsar really doesn't feel like KL or PJ. The vibes are giving overseas hahaha. I'll leave out the parts where we dogpiled on other places, ahaha |・ω・). As we were nearing my neighbourhood, I expressed how it feels a bit weirdge that I am the first to reach home first, as usually the others would be the first back.
Back home, I struggled a bit to swap out my upper flat piercing, as the part was so inflamed that it was almost eating up the jewellery. I prayed, and thank God that I managed to swap it out! (Update: the swelling has reduced a bit! Thank God!) I was even considering to get it swapped out by snuggy, haha, but maybe I'll still visit them by the pop-up event. Hopping on discord, we watched a recap of Severance S1 before calling it a night for realz. Whewwww what a day! (∪。∪)。。。zzZ

I think I thoroughly enjoy writing a blog post. It felt so long since I've put down my linguistic idiosyncrasies into words. I would like to think that I influence the people around with some catchy words to say (๑˘︶˘๑), but writing has really allowed me to slow down, take a breather, and just sit with my thoughts for a while. I've also come to realise that while I enjoy recapping what happened that day, there are many conversations that I have left out of these blogs. I think that while I can't recall word for word, I know that those conversations were definitely filled with laughter and lots of jokes, as well as some more life to life conversations as well. I think more than what we did, I really appreciate these moments where we just communicate as well. I might not remember it, but the vibes are still there ♡( ◡‿◡ ). There are also more things I want to blog that has happened since my last blog, but I think I need a bit more time to just sit and feel it out. I want to try and just allow myself to be more personal and emotional. But that's for another blog ╰(▔∀▔)╯
Until next time friends! (๑˃ᴗ˂)ﻭ
