The day before it had started to sprinkle and it got me excited for cooler weather since it had been feeling warmer. I stayed up till the morning to really savor it, waking up to a sore neck, congestion, and a headache. It does feel great outside though. The pavement is damp and reflective, mimicking the look of a thin layer of snow. There's a name for the smell of the air after it rains, petrichor. Not anything revolutionary to say that it's the best smell to wake up to, but it really is. That and the way it sort of mixes with the gasoline vapors and the faint scent of wood shavings. Bit of a shame that I have more work to get done today than I did yesterday.
