Being Ghosted By Pen Pals

     I've had two pen pals in my life—one long-term and one short-term. My long-term pen pal was my elementary school friend, Kennedy. She moved away one day, and we decided to become pen pals. This lasted around two years, on and off, before she finally stopped sending me letters. However, I continued sending her letters for about a year, in hopes that one day she would respond, but she never did, and we eventually drifted apart. I met my short-term pen pal in June of 2024 through social media. She messaged me and asked if we could be pen pals. I was so excited! We sent a couple of letters back and fourth, but then, I stopped receiving letters. We also used to message frequently, but she suddenly stopped replying. I thought she was probably just too busy with other things going on in her life, since she had to take a break from pen paling and social media before, due to her frequenting college parties. Despite my wishful hoping, she still hasn't replied to me to this day, whether it be through letters or social media. I did see her picnic post recently, and she seems to be doing great! I wish the best to my pen pals, and I wish we could reconnect one day...
