My crush doesn't like me :/

So A little context to the story-

Let's call him strawberry bc strawberries are my favorite fruit. 

I've known strawberry since seventh grade but we got really close in eighth grade. We've liked each other on and off but never noticed or never dated. 

He's so cute to me, even though my friends call him ugly. He's super tall and really warm and smells good and he's always so sweet to me. But last summer he ended up moving away. And I was super sad Abt it. 

Well I've recently gotten back into him, but he's really bad at texting back. We've called for hours a few times but we go days without speaking to each other. I know he's busy with swim but it's hard when he's not good at communicating :/

(also there was a little point in time where he accidentally led me on a few months ago and I was heartbroken when he rejected me after we KISSED)

I'm a really bad over thinker so I NEED someone to pay attention to me, especially if it's long distance. I just don't think he likes or even loves me enough to text back or pay me much attention and it crushes my heart.

Everytime we see each other in person, he's always super sweet and the Strawberry I know but it's awful when he barely comes into town. 

I just feel really shitty. Especially since Valentine's day is coming up and everyone around me is getting into relationships or is in healthy happy ones.
