I wish Arcane were longer

I loved the 2 seasons of Arcane that we got. I was not the biggest fan of LoL, as I just didn’t enjoy the game play, but Arcane made me reconsider playing it just to continue to engage with the characters. I think that Arcane was one of the best animated series that I have seen in a while. But all of that being said, I wish it go more seasons / time to tell its story.

I think that the animation was so fucking amazing, with the attention to detail in both seasons being so good. I think that that is its best feat in its short run time. But its story does suffer from it being so short. I think the plot points from season 2 could have been split into 2 seasons, giving the show 3 seasons total and more time to expand on the Noxus arc.

 That is the thing that I feel made the last season feel so rushed, the introduction of Noxus as a militaristic group, and how it affected the main characters. With Noxus being included in the ‘breakup/ rebellion” part of the story, it made it so that a lot of the character development that would of and should have happened in these parts and story beats be rushed over or forced to come to a quick end. This mainly affected the CaitVi relationship, as it didn’t give the audience enough time to consider how the attack on the Council messed up their relationship. It showed how it fucked up Caitlyn and Vi’s guilt, but not how it impacted them as a unit, instead pushing past it to  put the final nail in the coffin of their relationship,Caitlyn asking Vi to join the Enforcers. It also forced the audience to brush past how Viktor’s herald arc really changed the ways of those in the Undercity, as Noxus came in and immediately took it over.

I think if the second season focused on the fall out of CaitVi, the fall of Caitlyn’s mental health, The Jinxers, and the Herald of Zaun arc of Viktor, then going to season three with Ambessa’s influences finally spreading from Caitlyn to the enforcers and Piltover military, the fight back against the military, and the understanding that Ambessa was a war monger, the show would have felt a lot smoother. There’s nothing that I think was actually bad about the show, as its good, I just wish it wasn’t as rushed due its short runtime.
