the thing about writing

I have a story that's been plaguing me.  Like, every waking second it's unfolding bit by bit in my head (two of 'em actually, but let's just focus on the one I'm actually working on lmao).  I haven't written in so long, but I'm making myself actually type this one out and put it out into the world.  The thing I forgot about writing??  The hardest, most annoying, frustrating, gut punch of a thing???  Fucking GETTING TO THE PART of the story that you ACTUALLY want to tell, figuring out what happens to get you there, writing out all the shit on the way to the fun bits.  How the fuck do they get there?  I don't care!  I want to write the fun part!!  but mannnn it's only satisfying if it has that buildup, that backstory... so pluck away at it is what i've gotta doooooooo
