Le Nozze di Figaro

Last weekend, I saw "The Marriage of Figaro" at the WNO in Cardiff. I had such a great time! 

Before the opera, we went for lunch. The service took an hour, our food didn't arrive until 20 minutes before it was due to start! So we had to eat very quickly, which was a shame because the food itself was delicious.

It was my first opera, though I'd heard a lot of the pieces before. We were sat way up high, "in the Gods", so it was really hard to see, especially with my poor eyesight, but it was still good. I hadn't expected it to be so funny - the entire audience was laughing out loud. All of the actors were brilliant, they had such beautiful voices. It would be so hard to pick a favourite character, though I really liked Cherubino -  he was very funny and endearing.

My family goes to the opera every year, and since I'm now 18 I've been able to join that tradition. I really look forward to next year!
