USE YOUR LIBRARIES (please)

I feel like I see online so many times that people feel like they have to buy a book just to read it, even if they don't really end up liking it. But the thing is!!! THE THING IS!!! Libraries are mostly free. ADDITIONALLY, libraries will often Order Books For You if they don't have copies already. Libraries are allocated funds specifically for Getting New Books and will be extremely glad to buy them!

Most if not all of the books that I read are borrowed from a school or public library. I buy books when I am so in love with them that I NEED to have my own copy so that I can re-read them and annotate them or whatever my little heart desires.

Even if a library can't buy a new one, oftentimes they're branch libraries and can ask their sister libraries to send over a copy that's in a different location.

USE YOUR LIBRARIES!! Even if you don't like to read, they oftentimes provide so many other services. Some libraries even have DVD or CD sections where you can borrow Movies, TV Shows, Music, VIDEO GAMES, ETC, FOR FREE. A lot of time they'll have printers and access to the internet! Check out what's available at your public library, I'm sure you won't regret it ^-^

Anyway, I love libraries and you should too! Thank you for listening

I miss the library so much :( I haven't gone since mid autumn because I haven't returned some books but a good amount of my summers were spent going there. Thankfully I have Libby/Overdrive so I can read/listen to library books but reading on my phone and listening is just not the same.

Agreed!! Some books I do need to buy though unless I want a late return fee (ᵕ—ᴗ—). In this case I buy the book second-hand or see if a friend has it and will let me borrow.

I would use libraries if they didn't require so much effort.

They almost never have the books i'm looking for, at least the local ones don't. They need you to apply for a library card which is just an extra effort on my end.

If I just wanted to read a book for free I would just look for it on the internet. I do understand that physical books are way better to read, I just can't imagine ever handling a book that isn't owned by me. I'm not a clumsy person but I feel like I could lose it or damage it by accident.
What I hate the most about libraries is that there's a deadline in which you have to finish your book. I don't read a lot so it takes me a couple of weeks/months to finish one, depending on my mood.

I appreciate libraries a lot but they just aren't for me. The issues I brought up outweigh the positives in my eyes.
