I am by no means the best bass player in the world, however, I'm to the point in my musical journey to be able to appreciate the sound and know what makes a solid, driving bassline. Here's a list of no particular order of basslines that had me headbanging in my car or maybe even giggling a little bit bass is sooooo fun teehee
Bad Things- Get Scared
House Of Wolves- My Chemical Romance
Hysteria- Muse
Reapers- Muse
Head Mounted Sideways- VOLA (overall, just a super awesome band. Go listen to VOLA.)
Physical Education- Animals As Leaders
You've Seen The Butcher- Deftones
Slouch- Dance Gavin Dance (oh, go figure, the user 'dancejaydance' likes DGD, whaaat?)
Stick Sickly- Attack Attack!
Enter- VOLA (again, highly recommend!)
Jumpsuit- Twenty One Pilots
Suffocate (Feat. Poppy)- Knocked Loose, Poppy
Wildfire- Periphery
Problem- Set It Off (I know it's a cover, but its just so well done it deserves a listen!)
The Moon/Awake- The Dear Hunter (It's a bit on the concept-y side, but give this whole album a listen when you're doing something. Seriously. Laundry goes twice as fast with TDH playing.)
Shimmy- System Of A Down
Head Hunter- Dance Gavin Dance
Pass The Nirvana- Peirce The Veil (although not my go-to album for bragging about how good ptv is, this single sold me the second i heard it. simple, yet effective. Hand it to the overdrive pedal for making good riffs great.)
Count Bassy- Dance Gavin Dance (this one in particular stands out in DGD's discography for me for a very, very special reason. When I saw the band live, it was used as a memorial song for the band's incredibly talented late bassist, Tim Feerick. Every time I hear it, I get a little watery-eyed thinking about how everyone cheered seeing his name on the screen. I hope I'm as good as he was one day. We miss you, Tim.)
No Fun Club- Frank Iero
Bulls In The Bronx- Peirce The Veil
that's all....for now!

even though I can tell we have totally different music tastes (and I don’t even play ELECTRIC bass), those lines are so dang good mann!
I really recommend taking a swing at:
‘Tether’ by Dark Satellite
you can tell lots and lots of love was put into the bass in the song (probably because the singer is a bassist lol).
but by-far my most favorite bass line is “The Cowboy” part of:
‘The Dead Flag Blues’ by Godspeed you! Black Emperor
even though it’s really simple and just 2 measures that shifts, man oh man, it always brings tears to my eyes listening to it
(I also wanna say that Head Hunter is the most absurdly beautiful thing I’ve seen in my life)
