I'm someone who has, for a very long time, been interested in history in general. Be it the 1920s, 1970s, 1980s, etc. However, something has always felt a bit special about the 2000s, and I think that's gotta do with being a 2006 kid. I can just *barely* remember the cultural experience of the 2000s... I remember hearing about all the popular music artists of the time, I remember FRED, I remember my VHS collection getting phased out by DVDs (I remember the DVD rental store, too). However, being as young as I was, I never really got to live it in a sense. I was there for that little bit of history, but I didn't get to participate in it, just observe it. Because of that it feels so magical, like a mystical world I saw in a dream and promptly woke up from...
Anyway, I'm done with my tiny little rant. Anyone else feel the same way?

i was born in 2006 too and i feel the same way!! i think we were kind of the last generation to have an early childhood influenced by the internet but not consumed by it. there was definitely a magic to that era that was enhanced by seeing through the eyes of a child, and while sometimes i do wish i had been a little older just to have experienced it and remember it all more thoroughly, i'm glad i was still young enough to really appreciate what the internet had to offer for our age range.

both the FRED youtube channel (esp his music videos like the babysitter's a vampire) and the movies have a special place in my heart; even after years the humor still holds up for me and I'm 20 now lol
