This is a post I made on a small trans teens group on spacehey, and I felt like I should post this on my blog as well, so here it is!!
This is about my experience of coming out to my parents (as a ftm)
2022, I was 14, and I told my mom how uncomfortable I was with my school uniform. (The japanese sailor school uniform thingy) and then, I just went straight into the transgender topic (which I shouldn’t have) and things didn’t go good. I don’t exactly know what went wrong, but I think she thought that I hate my body/voice/my whole “female” childhood? I can’t blame her for reacting like this (since she is the one who gave birth to me, has cared about me my entire life) She also thought I was just influenced by the internet/“trends”.
I think she also assumed that I wanted to medically transition, and she was scared of that. I really shouldn’t have said anything before properly researching and planning.
Summary
- Don’t rush things
- Don’t try to bring up the trans topic early
- Do enough research and planning before telling your parents
- Don’t tell your parents about medical transition
- Let them know that you are actually trans + tell them that you need emotional support
⬇︎Reasons of why a christian person could hate trans people ⬇︎ (not written by me)
Lack of education about transgender experiences can lead to fear or misconceptions. Some believe being transgender is a mental disorder or a result of societal influence rather than a real identity.
Some Christians believe that the Bible defines gender as strictly male and female, citing passages like
Genesis 1:27 ("God created them male and female").
They may see transgender identities as contradicting God's intended design.
Some argue that changing one's gender goes against God's natural order. They believe that people are created with a specific biological sex and that altering it is an act of defiance against God’s plan.
However…
Sea creatures that changes gender exist!
Clownfish – Clownfish are protandrous hermaphrodites, meaning they start life as males and can transition into females. If the dominant female in a group dies, the largest male will change into a female to take her place.
Parrotfish – Many species of parrotfish are sequential hermaphrodites, meaning they can switch from female to male (protogyny). Some males start as females and later transform into brightly colored, dominant males.
Wrasses – Similar to parrotfish, many wrasse species also undergo female-to-male transitions when no dominant male is present.
Sea Hares – These marine mollusks are simultaneous hermaphrodites, meaning they have both male and female reproductive organs at the same time and can mate in chains.
Oysters – Oysters can change sexes multiple times throughout their lives, usually starting as males and becoming females as they grow larger.
Tell your parents about how much you care about them and yourself, and you want emotional support from them.
I support all trans teens!!!!!

Chicken Pox
I relate to you so much! Thanks for doing research and this post, I hope other trans peeps will see it as well. There is also a correlation between transphobia and people of color (or people of mixed nations).
TW/CW: transphobia, racism, TERFism
For examples, European invaders and scholars tried to prove POC's intelligence to be worse by pointing at their rather more accepting culture towards transgender people. British invaders banned the right to be a Hijra (transgender person in Indian culture) when India was occupated by them. They also acted similarly with Two-Spirited identity, which is a third gender identity of Native American culture.
There is also an opinion that current British and American businessmen pay money for anti-trans (so-called LGB) propaganda in mass media. For example, J. K. Rowling was complaining about trans rights when white Nazis protested against BLM in 2020. I'm too lazy to insert the references but I could give them if you'd like to.
I’m glad to find people who understands!! I will be posting more content like this to reach out to more trans/queer people!
