Hello! I wanted to do a thing called gar week because they're my favorite fish, but gar week was already in December. Would it be weird to do a separate week early this year and then repost it during December or should I just wait until next gar week later this year?
Some cool gar facts that may help determine your answer...
- There are 7 species of gar (longnose, shortnose, spotted, florida, tropical, cuban, and alligator!)
- They are oviparous (lay eggs) and those eggs are toxic to humans and other animals if consumed
- Males can live up to 12 years (rarely) and females can live up to 22 years
- Out of the 7 species of gar, 4 of them are found in Florida (Florida (obviously), longnose, spotted, and alligator)
- They live in warm freshwater rivers and streams, sometimes living in brackish or stagnant waters
- They are also so primitive that they have more cartilage than the average bony fish!
