Marauders Era Headcanon

this is a Peter Pettigrew headcanon so if you don't like him you probably shouldn't read any further.

ok, so basically I think that even though no none of the marauders ever said anything mean or teasing about Peter's weight his parents had always sorta negative about it and that as a kid he didn't have any friends due to his parents sheltering him so all he knew was negativity about his weight. When he got to hogwarts he tried really hard to be liked and he was super insecure due to his parents. Those insecurities never really went away, in fact they just kept growing despite the marauders never saying anything, other people did. That's why he began distancing himself and eventually joined Voldemort; he just wanted to be seen as more than his weight or his ability to make others laugh as that's the box others and he himself had put him into.
