A few months ago, I had a phase where I tried to learn as much as I could about poetry and thus took a shot at writing some myself. Below is a collection of some things I wrote in that time, in chronological order (excluding the one poem ive posted here previously).
To Whom it May Concern
to whom it may concern,
there is a small dent in the corner of my wall, beside the leftmost table.
through it, you can peer into the next room over and see what's going on.
it concerns me deeply when an eye is staring back,
or when the hole wont fully ever close (despite how much plaster).
i thus require assistance in solving this case.
i don't know when it started, but i know these walls well--- better than my own soul.
and wish to learn nothing beyond them.
i deeply hope you'll help recover this room, so i may rest in peace.
sincerely, tenant
Lobster Poem
there's a lobster there underneath your chair---
pinching and clawing and scratching---
ruthless and vile and cruel to the bone---
ongoing without relaxing!
but why is he there
underneath your chair?
when he belongs to the sea?
i feel bad for him in a silly way,
ruthless though he may be.
Ekphrastic Poem (unsure of name of the original art piece)
through swarming fields and keening crows,
beyond the rain lies angels glow.
through swishing, swashing; churned till bare.
a pause, a dash, a glimpse past air.
