My Favourite Music Video! (right now)

Honestly, I had never listened to this song the whole way through until recently because of the guitar solo that became popular on TikTok. But honestly, I’ve been listening to Type O Negative's old interviews, and I decided to search up some of their music videos. After listening to Black No. 1, I Don’t Want to Be Me came up, and all I can say is that this video scratches an itch and is so entertaining it became an instant favorite—not to mention how much it improves the listening experience for me. I also realize the song is so more the solo it became popular for.

I also find this kinda ironic that this is the music video that has become my favourite considering I’m not even really a fan of Type O Negative. Some of their songs are good (I have not listened to many yet), but I really like listening to their old interviews and learning more about the very interesting band. Even though I’m not really what you would say reaches "fan" requirements, this music video for I Don’t Want to Be Me is so awesome.

And also, this video is so humorous and almost makes me forget about the saddening and depressing lyrics—what a mix of emotions this makes me feel. And also, how does the main character in the video actually make me feel like they are a beautiful woman?

I think what really makes me drawn to this video is that it has a person, particularly a man, dancing his heart out. It makes me so sad how so many people, especially men, think they’re too cool or hate dancing, whereas I think it’s awesome. Dancing is such a carefree, innocent way to express yourself. And also, this guy dancing so passionately, really letting out his inner feelings, and not caring about sticking to same-gender characters when dancing around and portraying exactly who they want to be without censoring themselves.

I know that was a lot, but honestly, I needed to rant about it somewhere. So what better place than SpaceHey—the place where alternative and Type O Negative fans lurk?

Also, is the main character an actor? Because he looks so familiar.
