I watched a complete unknown recently, and when I say that I do not remember any of the plot that is the truth, but you know what I did remember? Pete Seeger. It may as well have been the Pete Seeger movie because he was the only thing I was paying attention too.
He by far the most interesting character and a genuinely good guy, unlike some others in the movie. I have learned nothing about Bob Dylan, nor have I listened to any of his music since, but me and Pete are going steady.
I have started listening to him on my daily commute to school and I am having a jolly old time. Is 90% of his music about unions? yes. Am I in a union? no. Will I ever be in a union? probably not, you never know. Will that stop me from listening to him? never. Him and his midwestern twang are the only things keeping me going.
in conclusion, more people should listen to folk music, specifically Pete Seeger, and I now need to learn how to play the banjo.
the man, the myth, the legend ^
