His Unsaid Words: Entry 1

Oh, Prince of the Damned

I am engulfed in the fire of the burning palace. My hands were chained to the bed, so were my feet, which I wished desperately were free. I am paralyzed. My eyes cannot drift away from the impending doom that came crawling towards my body. I, the monster's son, have found punishment approaching me. My mother’s sins are my price to pay.

As the flames grew crueler and the walls started crumbling down, I admitted my defeat even when my body had not once seen war and battle. I sat patiently on the edge of the warm mattress, waiting for the sinner to reach me. The smoke, the burning blood, the stench of the lying corpses. The palace was suffocating.

Before me were hordes of savages cackling and rejoicing for my imprisonment. Some clapped, some held their wine glass, some laughed, some simply watched. The loud wore rags, the silent wore riches. But one they all had in common was their hunger for sin.

I could barely hold on to my consciousness. But even with my weakened sight, I remained unmoved as I watched a lustful savage with eyes feasting on mine. Slowly making their way towards the stairs they climbed not wanting to look away from me, like a beast witnessing their prey waiting for their teeth to be buried in his skin.

In mere seconds, he was already above me, silently staring at me with a grin. The flames seeped high into the ceiling, fragments of ember falling from it.  “Oh, betrayed prince of the damned, your mother has brought this upon you.” His voice echoed in my ears. I had many words to say, but my mouth was sealed shut by the excruciating heat sewn all over my body.

As his skin was poured all over me, I was cursed with eternal slumber. With my eyes closed forever, it was then when I asked myself: Was I freed when this body no longer fought back, or did my body surrender as it knew I can never be free.

I felt nothing, I felt everything. I felt the world leave me helpless. I felt the world crushing me.
