I want to write a novel.

I have wanted to write a novel for so long now and I know nothing about writing but just today an idea struck me, and I couldn't pass up. I'm just YOLOing it and starting to write, and hopefully I won't lose motivation because even though it will likely have the terribleness all first novels have it will be mine. this is what I've written so far as I've just been planning :p tips and constructive criticism are always welcome! :)

Chapter one:

When an animal is hurt, the obvious right thing to do is to help it. It is a world that humans have made to only suit themselves and at a pitiful attempt to rectify this fact many would agree that it is inhumane to leave an animal injured in a world that is no longer theirs. It is something that they did not ask for but bare the weight of and suffer anyway. It is without a doubt of mine that this is part of what separates man and animal. When someone is injured, it is always the fault of someone or something, and when an animal is injured, it is the same, but the animal itself does not blame and therefore it does not hold grudges. If an animal held a grudge against the thing or person who had hurt it then logically, that would mean that the animal knew the difference from something right and wrong, good and bad; That is the difference between man and animal.

That is why when on an early autumn afternoon while sitting in the yard of a house that didn’t ever really feel like mine, and a bee who was desperate for the last of the dying summer pollen flies right past my face and smashes into the window of the front door with fettle attempts at becoming airborne once again I feel the need to help. That is why I grab a leaf off the tree I was taking shade under, and I try my own pitiful attempt at reversing the damage that has been caused by the human world.
