I'm current enrolled in what would be equivalent to an associate's degree in IT. Recently, the school had to conform to a new law that prohibit the use of any eletronic device that has acess to the internet (cellphones, smartwatchs and so on). The use of this items were already blocked in class but now the law extends it to ALL FACILITIES AT ALL TIMES. The argument that they use is that students should focus and interact more with each other. It's not that bad, right?
IT'S COMPLETELY USELESS
Students are finding workarounds already to have something better to do then these boring classes or just completely ignoring the law. Tech isn't the problem when the fucking system designed at the industrial revolution doesn't work anymore.
This is not how I intended to use this layout but damn... They really surpassed themselves with this one....

Here in Brazil they also did this, a law that prohibits the use of all devices with internet at school, CANNOT EVEN DURING BREAKS! and they still TAKE our cell phones, THEY INSTALLED CAMERAS IN THE BATHROOM (EVEN IN THE WOMEN'S!!!!!!) my cell phone broke in the first week back to school for this reason, I feel like I'm in a prison T-T
Caraca câmera no banheiro é de fuder. Você estuda de manhã? Eu sou do noturno, faço técnico em uma ETEC (só o técnico mesmo, não sou ensino médio) e eles aplicaram essa merda pra gente. A sorte é que a maioria dos professores não aderiu e o período da noite é abandonado.
Tem um professor que insiste que a gente não use o celular e é bizarro porque nossa turma tem desde gente de 16 anos até 40+ e ele fica mandando os adultos guardarem o celular...

sim, eu sou de manhã, e é realmente revoltante eles não permitirem usar os celulares até dos adultos daí, aqui como é de manhã muitas pessoas vão trabalhar depois então precisam trazer os celulares, e eles ficam pegando e colocando em caixas e só devolvem 10 minutos antes de ir embora. Eu concordo em tirar no período de aula, mas nos intervalos é péssimo! eles se preocupam MUITO com o quesito de celular, mas agora o meu professor de história que NÃO EXPLICA HISTÓRIA ninguém fala nada. (e o pior é que está na lei que não pode pegar os celulares dos alunos, mas eles pegam mesmo assim)

O acolhimento nas escolas continua péssimo. Sugiro que você comece a levar eletrônicos mais "analógicos" (escondido porque né) e\ou ache alguns hobbies offline que dê pra fazer escondido lá.
Infelizmente na época que eu tava na escola até mesmo desenhar em aula era um problema, não sei se ainda é desse jeito :c

To be fair, internet connected devices aren't the same as non internet connected ones, the former of which do have a potential to become quite addictive (intentionally by design too, might I add), as I have seen in both myself and in others around me.
I know! But I do believe that's not a good solution for the school situation :(

schools have always fought to eliminate popular things, though I suppose its a bit of a different sitch when its the govt tellin the schools what to eliminate. They try to ban trading cards, fidgets, whatever students are attached to cus its a bad influence or smth. banning never works! People will always find a distraction
It baffles me that UNO is also banned here. FUCKING UNO! A card game that THEY ALSO OFFER TO PLAY IN THE SPARE TIME!! UNBELIAVABLE!!
