I GOT THE JOB [STORY TIME]

I GOT THE JOB I'VE ALWAYS DREAMED ABOUT AND IM SCARED

so, storytime

i finished university on december last year, where i majored in journalism and communications. i wasn't even graduated and i already had 3 really good job offerings but i didnt feel satisfied with any of them, the enviroment wasnt what i had expected, even though my bosses kept congratulating me due to my almost perfect work.

i wasnt fulfilled and so i became depressed, but one day, i decided to take three of my paintings i had done during my uni years, one of them which changed my perspective on art, and i went to get copies of each one so i could give to my friends as a gift.

i put the originals on the desk at the prints shop and suddenly two people came to my side, minding their own business, but because the place was small, we were crowded and they both saw my work. it was a man and a woman, speaking with a rather posh accent.

both saw my paintings and said they loved it, they asked who did these? and i humbly thanked them and told them i did. they congratulated me and immediately asked me:

1. are you an artist? (r: yes)

2. how did you learn? (r: by reading art books in the city's public library when i was in highschool)

3. who taught you? (r: i learned by myself)

4. do you know techniques? (r: yes! and i explained each technique of each painting on the table in front of them)

they proceeded to explain they worked managing a private academy for kids, and that they were looking for a visual arts teacher because the previous teacher wasn't really dedicated to technique and had just let the kids do whatever they wanted.

so i naturally became excited and told them i have never taught in my life, much less kids, but if they needed it for real, they could contact me and i would give my best, because i love art that much.

i received no news from them for a month, so i texted the man, letting him know i would love to be considered, he promised to call me. and an hour ago, the man contacted me and told me i shall be ready for march because that's when classes start, he just sent me the contract and asked for a few documents and said to give it a go.

like ??? this is the job process people had back in the 1930s LMAO bc i had asked him if they needed someone with a degree to teach or anything and they said nah, just someone who knows what they're doing

i prayed to jesus for this, i put it into his hands and let him decide what would happen and this happened. i feel so blessed and excited, im young but not naive, im ready and i can adapt to any work enviroment after my last job, so im ready im ready im ready.

its basically a part time job but im so happy

thank lord for this opportunity !!

i shall give my best !!

it scares me to work with kids because i dont know how to handle them, but i would die to protect them and hope i can inspire a kid to keep doing art after growing up, the way my art teachers inspired me :)
