sp post covid spoilers!
omg i just finished the post covid special and boy do i have opinions on this. first of all it makes me so sad seeing how stan turned out. he hated randy his whole childhood and he turned out exactly like him. also i totally called him being an alcoholic. i noticed that the trailer misled us a lot, the whole phone call between stan and kyle didn’t happen in south park elementary i have no idea why they put that in the trailer. and the church scene where tweeks head was barely visible didn’t even include him. but i’m so happy tweek and craig are still together, it seemed like a choice by matt and trey. i think how kenny was shown was great, i can totally imagine him ending up like that, especially because of his “can’t die” situation. i can imagine him starting to study science in order to research why hes like that and ending up researching covid instead. speaking of covid, it was super weird how they decided to show randy and his family. like they killed shelly?? what??? and sharon killed her self?? i cant imagine her leaving stan alone like that, she cared so much about him. i really wish we got to see those events actually transpired cause i’d be interesting to see how randy tried to raise stan after that. that’s probably how stan ended up so much like his as the last ten years of his youth were spent with only randy and a parental figure. we hardly got to see kyles life at all. he apparently still lives in his family home, none of the decor has changed, and he doesn’t have a partner. i wanna know more about him. moving onto the elephant in the room: cartman. it was definitely an… interesting choice to make him a rabbi. i still can’t decide if he’s being serious or not. i really wanna know if this is really his life, how did he get to this point? how did he go from a neo-n@zi to a rabbi with a jewish family? i understand that he’s supposed to have changed and improved, a stark contrast to kyle who has stayed relatively the same, but the problem is that this didn’t feel like cartman to me at all. even thought he’s different, he should still feel like the same character we’ve grown to know. but it felt like they threw in a random new character. he didn’t feel like cartman. lastly, i wanna talk abt butters. man was i shocked when they shows the plaque at the end. i was expecting victor chaos to be someone we knew from the original show but butter was a total surprise. what the hell happened to him? honestly i went into this special with extremely low expectations. and although it wasn’t as gods as the original show, hell it didn’t even feel like south park anymore, it was entertaining and i’m excited for the next part to come out.
