Small Dopamine Detox ?

Dopamine has to do with inspiration and creativity. I cut TikTok for 3 days, and I already feel alive again and have multiple ideas for new artworks. I'm excited about simple activities like before, and I can enjoy what I really like! My overthinking is getting controlled too. It's true, I feel a wave of boredom and sadness sometimes, due to not being used to the normal dopamine secretion.

My brain was addicted to that high dose of dopamine that came from short videos . It became the only source of enjoyment and killed the beauty in small things. And even if it sounds a bit silly, cutting off this addiction requires a lot of courage and firmness, which is what I'm working on.

I'm not saying the whole TikTok app is bad, but relying on short random videos to keep you distracted from your work, stress, or overthinking won't help in the long run (at least for me). So even in the future, if I ever go back to using that app, I would be very careful about the number of hours I spend and how my brain is reacting to the content there.

Maybe next time, I will talk about how social media in general could change your mindset and perspective about everything without you noticing (not in a bad or good way, just sharing my experience and conclusions in a neutral way).

I would love to read ur opinions about this topic. Have a good day! ^_^

Love this post, been thinking about cutting off TikTok again because I did in the past and I think it was pretty good for me! unfortunately I got reeled back into the addiction, an dim trying my best to stop using it as much..
I do agree TikTok isn't entirely horrible its just something to be used in moderation, im currently trying to get back into watching longer YouTube videos about my interests, because not only does it fascinate me, it teaches me more and its not short snippets just to keep me from overthinking.
very good post <3 10/10

Exactly, it's all about using it in moderation!

I agree, watching long videos on YouTube is a great way to focus and learn new things instead of feeling stressed out by watching short distracting content. Thanks a lot for your lovely reply ^_^
