Ballet or Figure Skating ? ༉‧₊˚.

Recently, I have been conflicted with my sports. I love both ballet, and figure skating, but cannot financially afford to do both. With figure skating, I would have to buy new skates soon (which can be like up to $1000 dollars !), and a skating pass, which is $450. I cannot afford that for just 3 months. That does not even take into account skating lessons, which are $20 for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, ballet is expensive because of costume costs, attire, pointe shoes and slippers, as well as academy entry. Both are huge financial burdens. Since it is spring, and a new ballet season is starting, this would be a perfect time to join a more professional studio and dance in shows, but also, figure skating season will end in my town in a few months, so I am lost. I am currently leaning towards choosing ballet. I feel like figure skating has stressed me out too much. I had friends trying to set me up with someone, and it ended up souring the whole experience for me, I think. I also do not feel very welcome at the rink. I feel out of place. For context, I started skating when I was 4-5 years old, but stopped it after a year, and since the town I lived in only had a rink open 4 months a year, I did not ever pursue skating after. When I was 15, I started skating again, and I have been until now (I'm 17 now). But because of that large gap, I am still on the basic levels, which is upsetting. But with dance, I feel like it would be easier for me to pick up. I am pretty flexible, and did dance for about 3 years, and gymnastics for 4, which would all help with ballet.

I feel like I know the answer to this, and I know I will choose ballet, but part of me is sad letting go of Figure Skating. I was hoping to enjoy this skating season, but recent events have just made me nervous.

Hopefully, I will get more clarity soon, and might have an opportunity to pursue both equally.
