Today of all days?

Today I feel conflicted. My emotions are everywhere and I just want to scream. I’m so confused. I’m hurt. I’m trying. I’m doing the best I can. It seems these tears come from nowhere and everywhere at the same time. Feigning happiness. Smiling so others think I’m all good. Pretending that everything’s okay. Nothings okay. I am not okay. When you look me in the eye, I mean really look me in the eye, what do you see? I’ll tell you what I see. A little girl lost and alone, looking for protection in a world where no one cares. Trying to find solace in the ones she thought were closest only to be abandoned. No trust. No love. But it’s all love. How do you teach someone something they’ve never had?
