Ita bags! (badge/pin bags with protective panels)

I recently discovered the idea of an ita bag. What is an ita bag?

An ita-bag (or in English, painful bag) is a handbag, backpack or other kind of bag covered in badges, buttons, figurines and other merchandise pertaining to anime and manga fandom.

There are many ways to further decorate an ita bag, but some popular ways include chains, keychains, plushies, lace, ribbons, rosettes.

More recently a protective transparent panel is added to the bags to protect the badges or other decorations from being damages or falling off. These also include an insert for your pins/badges. You can easily create your own panel to have a more specific look.

An ita bag is typically centered around one character or fandom, but that's not a requirement. It doesn't have to be anime-related. It doesn't have to be centered on one fandom.

You will many ideas of where the ita(or pain) in ita bag comes from. These are some examples:

- "pain" is in reference to the item being "painfully embarrassing" or "painful to look at" due to finding the display gaudy or cringeworthy
- the "pain" on your wallet from buying this hard on your budget
 - how time-consuming it can be to collect the merch
- some take it more literally and associate it with the feeling of being pricked on a pin

Here are some examples of different types of ita bags(photos are not mine):

and here is an example I found that takes it to an extreme:
