Ielele (Romanian Mythology)

Peeking out of sight are seven lumps of mist

In the gloomy forest, dancing in a twist

Moonlight unveils them drinking from a lake

Killing every creature no longer awake

These seductive creatures, maidens of the air

Renounce human values, undying, young, and bare 

Standing at a crossroad with a cunning smile

Melted hands together, spinning, form a pile

Whimsical creatures echoing a song

With a voice of gold, but why it feels so wrong?

Gorgeous ladies with skin soft like cotton

Seduced by death itself, my path I have forgotten

But faced with such a curse, how could I have not?

A smile full of beauty that my heart has caught

A sweet and gentle look opening the sky

But a simple frown can make the ocean cry

Driving me insane with your thirst for blood

Human-hating kin, emotions start to flood

Embraced in my arms until the break of day

Crushing my heart when you go away

Feed off my time, I require you the most

Even though my eyes slowly begin to close
