Dance Fever
This album has driven me crazy. Do you understand what I mean when I say crazy?!It was a happy coincidence that had me getting a hold of this CD on Wednesday. That's a story for another day though.
On Wednesday night, I put it into my CD player. "King", the first song off the album, already mesmerized me. And it kept only getting better.
I've never listened to music containing such raw emotions. I'm in a state of utter catharsis whenever I listen to this album. I've heard it maybe around ten times in the past four days.
It is so strange, too. I've never had an entire work tickle my brain the way this did. Florence Welch is a witch. And honestly. I'm here for it. I'll never be the same as I was before discovering Florence + The Machine for myself.
The worst part: I've always been aware of them in some sense. Like I knew "Yea, that's a band. And they make like.. indie music." And that was all I thought of them. And saying it is just "indie music" doesn't even tell half the story. And I don't even despise myself for not having cared before, because I don't think I would've been ready for this music at an earlier point in life.
So, to conclude: I have gone crazy. You should consider going crazy too. Give it a listen and let yourself be sent into the shadow realm while you're at it, it's worth it. Really.
