Okey so I’m kind of bad at explaining things so maybe I should’ve sat this one out but I think I can explain it !!! So basically there are two sides in football,,, offense and defense,,,, and the offense’s goal is to slowly inch their way down to the end zone and score a touchdown. The quarterback is an offensive player who throws the ball to other players on offense [wide receivers, tight ends, etc] and those player’s goal is to try to get as far as they can without the defense tackling and stopping them. The quarterback can also get tackled so they have to work fast to throw the ball !!! Oh and the defense’s goal is basically in the name, to defend !! So their goal is to stop the offense from getting close to the end zone ! There is also offensive players called offensive linemen and they are usually really big guys who need to be big so they can stop the defensive players from tackling the quarterback. Oh and also touchdowns gets a team 6 points. And when a team gets a touchdown they get to kick so there is another type of player called the kicker and they do exactly what their name implies,, they kick the ball and try to get it in that big ol yellow Y shaped thingy !!! Which means if the kicker succeeds they get 7 points !! Oh and then when all that’s done the team that was on offense switches to defense and the team on defense switches to offense!!! There’s a lot more to it but I think that’s a decent [I hope???] simplified version ^0^ I hope this helped and lemme know if you have any questions~~ I’m not a football know it all though I’m sorta new to it myself but I think I know a decent amount !!
