beauty of music..

Hi lovelies, you ever just lie in bed at like... 2AM, staring at the ceiling, headphones on, letting the music take you somewhere else ? Like, the whole world outside your window COULD be on fire, but in that moment it's just you and the sound-soft, slow, and wrapping around you like a warm, melancholic hug. Thats the kind of music I'm talking about. The kind that makes you feel like you're in a dream, like you're existing in some hazy in-between space where time doesn't matter...

I think that's why I've always been attached to bands like Mazzy Star, more recently, CAS. There's something about their music that just... hmmm... lingers ! It's nostalgic...Sandoval's voice.. it's like a whisper from the past, the kind that haunts you in the best way possible. Greg Gonzalez's vocals are airy, like a secret being sung directly into your soul ! 

Music like this hits different IMO !!! It's not something you just listen to.. but what you feel. Like a soundtrack to a heartbreak, to longing, to quiet moments of self reflection.. and maybe that's why we keep coming back to it. Because even in the middle of all the noise-school, work, life, whatever-there's always a song that understands exactly how we feel..
