Blooms now the lavender flowers,
Bathed by amethyst showers,
Under blanket of mauve cloud,
Sways the lilac proud,
Aside the regal violet throng,
Where the periwinkle sings it's song,
Bows low the branch of plum,
O'er the drooping iris glum,
Now dance the orchid in the sky,
Where the wistful will fly,
Feast upon dainty dewberry,
Kissing the bed of the fairy,
In the sunset nightshade,
Where the sun into aubergine fade,
Casting shadows of wine dark,
A glitter of merlot stark,
Nestled in the deep purple night,
A heather pilgrimage in flight,
Neath grape stained star,
Morning breaks in heliotrope thunder,
Damson dawn is torn asunder,
Morning light burning on the fronds of thistle,
Wake the kingfisher and make it whistle,
Goodbye to the indigo of night,
Now welcome amaranthine light.
