does anyone have any advice on how to stay engaged with your current project?

Currently writing, working on my WIP. It's a book about a troubled girl joining some rock band and learning maturity. I've taken up reading Catcher in the Rye recently for when I feel like it, which sparked me to really make this. I'm using it as a way to write fully in a perspective that strays from what I believe in. I started wonderfully, but I've been lacking recently. Looking at the Doc, I wonder if I should just put it down. It's such a horrible tendency most writers have, and I do it all of the time. I just need to finish one damn story, and I was getting close with a fantasy work I was dedicated to. Technically, I did finish it. I've proof read it so many times, and I need to go back and proof read it again. I just simply got bored of it, as I'm growing with this. Does anyone have any advice on how to stay engaged with your current project?

I'm working on a short game currently, and I personally find it easy to set aside time for my project for when I'm bored and when I have free time. Past projects I don't end up completing almost always is by trying to set reminders and set times to work on my project, but for me, if I feel less pressured, then I kind of naturally get stuff done.

thanks! I get what you mean. the best work typically comes spontaneously, but dedicating times I feel like will motivate you more to actually get it done. glad I'm not the only one, lol
