My Story with photography
Since I remember I've always been into photography, even as a kid.
During high school I took the habit of going for long walks and taking pics in my city, here and here you can see some examples. I don't even remember how and when it started, I just remember being very veery stressed bc of school and shit going on in my personal life.
I took them with the smartphone I had at the time, which was a Huawei P9 Lite I got at the beginning of 2017. It was a really shitty phone, laggy and all, but I capture some great memories.
In late 2018, my mind was set, "fuck it, I want a real camera". But as a high schooler with a very limited budget I had to wait for months before being able to buy a second hand canon, to be precise I bought the Canon EOS 20D in early 2019.
It took a while to take the gist of it, I didn't know anythig about photography in the literal sense (I still don't, for the most) but as soon as I did I started having so much fun with it. Something like this wasn't achievable at all with my low spec smartphone, I remember taking with me during my 2021 summer holiday and, even though that holiday was very far from perfect, I love having so many memories of it.
Too bad I'm a lazy ass and, even though I learned to use Lightroom, I've never edited them. Or post them... Well, until now!
Going back on topic, after 2021 I stopped carrying my Canon around, wanna know why? That shit is heavy as fuck, also I detest the heat, so carrying it around in summer felt like going through hell.
I started taking my Instax Mini 9 that my ex girlfriend gifted me, of course it wasn't the same but, you know, I just wanted to have memories of the places I've visited and people I met.
In general I'm an enthusiatic of physical medias, so having photos you can hold and display around is quite nice to me. Most of the times I even forget about the photo I take digitally, I just archive them, maybe post a couple of it on Instagram and call it a day. Which is, not bad, I mean, we don't have to share everything on social medias, do we? Maybe we share too much, actually, maybe it's just our FOMO acting up, thinking it didn't really happened If we didn't post on Instagram. But I think this is a topic for another post!
What I wanted really to say, it's that I just don't want to have memories of that, but also cherishing them, when I took photos with my Canon I was too focused on taking a good pic, I have sooo many photos of the same subject, it was mechanical in a way. Also, as I said, most of the time I just plugged my camera to my pc, download them and call it a day.
During my first year of uni, in fall of 2021, I got into analog cameras mostly because I found an old Olympus point-and-shoot for cheap at a flea marekt and because my university has a cool analog photo club. They gave you a 35mm film every month if you're part of it and then, at the end of the month you can develop the film in a black room we have in the Design department.
There's also a nice photography shop near the Design department, in which you can buy expired 35mm and APS films for cheap, and from then I took pictures almost esclusively with it.
If you (rightfully) dgaf about the blabbering:
tl;dr: I really like taking photos, I don't think I'm that good at it but I still love it, here's some pic I took with expired films and an old ass point and shoot camera from the 90s

Amazing photos! and it's such a cool hobby I love taking them with an older camera. The photo with the sea in it has honestly made me really homesick and nostalgic, it's stunning. Hope you continue to make lovely pictures.
