Clarification: Poor quality is Spacehey's fault
Translation:
Alex Trochut is a catalandesigner and illustrator, born on 3 June 1981 in Barcelona, Spain.
He graduated in Graphic Design at the ELISAVA school in Barcelona, began his professional activity in Berlin working in the studios Moniteurs and Xplicit; he later returned to Barcelona and worked in the studios Toormix and Vasava, setting up on his own in 2007.
His grandfather was Joan Trochut, a famous Catalan printer and typographer.
In 2011 he published his book "More is more", a compilation of all his work since 2006. He currently lives and works in Brooklyn, and already has 26 awards to his name, the most recent being the 2022 Communication Arts Award in the area of typography and print advertising.
His works are characterised by the importance he gives to typography, and in the variety and changes of technique in each project, while maintaining in all of them as common features the fusion between geometry and fluid forms. The colours, the way he plays with volumes and the textures he uses are also striking.
One that he considers decisive in his career was his 2003 work Liquid, the first work in which he began to use liquids.
His aim is to push language to the limit so that seeing and reading become one and the same
